Things are about to get Wicked in New Orleans.

Twenty-two year old Ivy Morgan isn’t your average college student. She, and others like her, know humans aren’t the only thing trolling the French Quarter for fun… and for food. Her duty to the Order is her life. After all, four years ago, she lost everything at the hands of the creatures she’d sworn to hunt, tearing her world and her heart apart.

Ren Owens is the last person Ivy expected to enter her rigidly controlled life. He’s six feet and three inches of temptation and swoon-inducing charm. With forest-green eyes and a smile that’s surely left a stream of broken hearts in its wake, he has an uncanny, almost unnatural ability to make her yearn for everything he has to offer. But letting him in is as dangerous as hunting the cold-blooded killers stalking the streets. Losing the boy she loved once before had nearly destroyed her, but the sparking tension that

grows between them becomes impossible for Ivy to deny. Deep down, she wants… she needs more than what her duty demands of her, what her past has shaped for her.

But as Ivy grows closer to Ren, she realizes she’s not the only one carrying secrets that could shatter the frail bond between them. There’s something he’s not telling her, and one thing is for certain. She’s no longer sure what is more dangerous to her—the ancient beings threatening to take over the town or the man demanding to lay claim to her heart and her soul.

My Review:

I must say that the beginning of the book really grabbed my attention so instantly. I mean what's not to love? There's a super-bly hot man named Ren, little, lovable Tink, and a baddass chick that hunts fae.

When I heard that Jennifer was writing a book about the fae, I was instantly intrigued because I love her style of writing. She can make a ridiculous, good romantic story while adding humor to it. She always adds the perfect amount of romance and giving us some really sexy scenes.

I have to admit that reading about fairies is not really my cup of tea. I love vampires, werewolves, witches, and demons. And maybe that was my downfall for this book. Don't get me wrong, Jennifer delivered a perfect unique story. But I'm just not into this fantasy creature.

I did love Ivy and Ren's relationship. But Ivy can be so stubborn at times and I didn't like that. She needed to let the past go. And to not let it control her future.

But I can say so many things about Ren. He's just such a hunk. I love him and his tattoo. And I can go on and on and on about him.

Then we have our little fellow, Tink. I won't say what he is but he is adorable. And he loves ordering things from Amazon! We have something in common!!

That being said, I was kind of expecting more from the ending. It didn't really leave me wanting to give the next book a go. But knowing me and because it's Jennifer Armentrout, I probably will try it just to see how it goes. But overall, Wicked is not really for me. And it doesn't seem like I would re-read it.

If you are really into fae, then you should give this a chance. And just because I don't really like fae, it doesn't mean the plot of Wicked is bad. On the contrary, I really wanted to like it but I've never been thrilled with reading about them. Jennifer did say that she didn't do research of the fae because she wanted a fresh mind and her own take on them so that it would be unique. That's why you should give this a shot!!

   3 Stars: I Liked It

  1. I gave this one three stars, too. I didn't really love it but I enjoyed it enough to want to read the next book.

    1. Yeah. I'm also curious enough to read the second as well.
