Professor Gabriel Emerson has embarked on a passionate, yet clandestine affair with his former student, Julia Mitchell. Sequestered on a romantic holiday in Italy, he tutors her in the sensual delights of the body and the raptures of sex. But when they return, their happiness is threatened by conspiring students, academic politics, and a jealous ex-lover. When Gabriel is confronted by the university administration, will he succumb to Dante's fate? Or will he fight to keep Julia, his Beatrice, forever? In Gabriel's Rapture, the brilliant sequel to the wildly successful debut novel, Gabriel's Inferno, Sylvain Reynard weaves an exquisite love story that will touch the reader's mind, body, and soul, forever.

Gabriel's Raptures picks up right where the first novel left off. Julia and Gabriel have consummated their relationship. All is seemingly going well between them. But their love has always been forbidden as Gabriel is a professor and Julia is his student. Something is bound to go wrong. And it does. It becomes an intense hot-mess because somehow evidence is brought up about them being together. Their relationship is exposed to the university and their love is put to the test.

The writing is seemingly beautiful and lyrical as ever. The plot makes this second novel a perfect continuation to the series. And the characters become stronger than ever. There are just so many obstacles that get in the way. A former enemy, the university committee, Gabriel's ex.

Julia has come such a long way from who she was in the first novel. She takes a stand for herself and she's more developed and confident. Gabriel is as fierce and protective of her. He won't let anyone ruin her dreams of attending Harvard. He's truly the perfect gentleman but he can be an alpha male at times. They promised to tell each other everything. They're both conflicted about losing each other. And yet they still have secrets they haven't told one another.

The romance is even more steamier than the first book. I think the love scenes were written very well. And Gabriel and Julia start exploring their sexual desires now that Julia has been with Gabriel. It's really intense and fan-worthy.

Overall, Gabriel's Rapture was so heart-wrenching and dream-worthy. It's such a beautiful love story that will definitely satisfy fans of romance novels! I completely devoured this and went for the next installment. If you were a fan of the first novel, I highly recommend you to continue the series because it does not disappoint!!

4 Stars: A Great Read!
